When she was in the middle the high school year, Sasha came out as transgender. Sasha managed to make it through those difficult years with his music and the support of family members. Jim and Sasha have now become a formal duo. Both songwriters have performed at various local venues and open mics. The coaches of the Voice stayed clear of discussing Sasha's history, but Jim revealed his personal through an intro video prior to the show. Sasha first started playing guitar at the age of six.
